The Birth Center
Give birth in a private, comfortable, home-like setting at Reading Health Physician Network - Reading Birth Center.
Our Birth Center is one of the oldest in Pennsylvania. It is nationally accredited and certified as “Baby Friendly” by The Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative, a global program sponsored by the World Health Organization and UNICEF.
Reading Health Physician Network - Reading Birth Center is a private, comfortable, and home-like environment that is welcoming to you and your family. The center features a kitchen, a family room, and a play area for your children who are always welcome whenever you visit. The birthing rooms are like bedrooms – a personal, private space for you and your family. At no time are you separated from your baby.
Your safety during labor, delivery, and after your baby is born is our priority.
The Birth Center is equipped to initiate care for common emergencies. If it becomes necessary to hospitalize you, care is continued to be provided by our midwives and if necessary our collaborative obstetrician at Reading Hospital, two miles from the Birth Center. Although it is rare, newborns requiring hospitalization are provided care by our collaborative pediatrician or the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Reading Hospital.
